Blockhead is Tony Simon, from Manhattan. Best known as Aesop Rock’s primary beatmaker, but Music By Cavelight (2004, Ninja Tune) was his solo debut, and it’s noticeably smoother and more melodic than his rap-adjacent work. Real range beyond making beats for other MCs. He put out two albums in 2024, Luminous Rubble and Mortality Is Lit!
