Artist
Leon Bridges. Born in Atlanta, raised in Fort Worth, Texas. He was washing dishes at Del Frisco's Grille and playing open mics at night when Columbia Records signed him at the end of 2014. His debut, Coming Home, came out in 2015, pure 1960s-style soul, and it got a Grammy nomination for Best R&B Album. Not bad for a guy off the dish line. Then he teamed up with Houston trio Khruangbin: 'Midnight' is off their Texas Sun EP, and 'Mariella' is off the follow-up, Texas Moon.
