No Joy. Started in late 2009 in Montreal as a shoegaze/noise-pop band around Jasamine White-Gluz. Their first show was with Hüsker Dü's Grant Hart, and they got an early co-sign from Best Coast's Bethany Cosentino. 'Uhy Yuoi Yoi' is on Wait to Pleasure (2013), the noisy, critically loved album that followed their debut Ghost Blonde (2010). With Motherhood (2020), No Joy became a solo White-Gluz project. Her 2025 album Bugland, co-produced with Fire-Toolz's Angel Marcloid, earned Pitchfork's 'Best New Music' tag and a spot on the 2026 Polaris Music Prize longlist. The pair followed it with the three-song EP Big Life, Big Leaf in August 2026.
