obli is the electronic project of Chris Null, a Los Angeles-based musician who spent seven years as the bassist in the rock band Dead Sara, touring widely with them before parting ways to build his own music. Before that, after settling in LA, he toured with Sonny Moore, who'd later become Skrillex, in the three-piece Sonny and the Blood Monkeys. Warm, melodic downtempo in the lineage of Bonobo and Four Tet. The four-track Change EP (December 2020) was his debut EP after signing to ODESZA's Foreign Family Collective, and the title track's featured vocal drew comparisons to Romy of The xx. Further singles followed, including 'hei' in 2022. Little public information is out there about the featured vocalist, Omotola, beyond this credit.
