Say it: shin-AYD
Sinéad O'Connor. Born in Dublin in 1966. Her debut, The Lion and the Cobra, came out in 1987, and in 1990 her version of Prince's 'Nothing Compares 2 U' went to No. 1 and made her a star around the world. Man, that voice. It could go from a whisper to a roar in one line. In 2003 she sang on Massive Attack's 100th Window, and 'A Prayer For England' is one of her songs on it, co-written with the band. She died in London in 2023, at 56.
