Tamaryn Sitha Brown. Born in New Zealand in 1982, long US-based: New York at the time of this record, later Los Angeles. Her first two albums were dense guitar shoegaze. Cranekiss (2015) is the pivot, made with producer Jorge Elbrecht and Shaun Durkan of Weekend at Brooklyn's Gary's Electric. She traded walls of guitar for synths, samples and her voice pushed right to the front. She's such a lifelong Depeche Mode obsessive that she interviewed Martin Gore for V Magazine. She'd idolised him since she was thirteen. Her most recent album is Dreaming the Dark (2019).
