Artist
German-Norwegian band based in Berlin, led by Erlend Øye of Kings of Convenience with Marcin Öz, Sebastian Maschat and Daniel Nentwig. They started in 2003 as an outright electronic dance project and gradually stripped every programmed element out, ending up a live band playing clean, elastic, almost jazz-inflected minimal funk. "Don't Give Up" runs backwards into that past. Øye had been performing an electronic arrangement of it live with Röyksöpp as early as 2001, years before this guitar-band version existed. Broke up in 2014, reformed in 2019 and put out the single "Serious" in 2020.
