Yppah

Yppah is Joe Corrales Jr., a Texas-raised electronic producer based in Long Beach, California. He started in rock bands and turntablism, then moved into his signature blend of shoegaze, psychedelia, soul and reverb-soaked electronic rock. Three albums on Ninja Tune: You Are Beautiful at All Times (2006), They Know What Ghost Know (2009) and Eighty One (2012, home of "Some Have Said"). Then Tiny Pause (Counter, 2015) and Sunset in the Deep End (Future Archive, 2020). His music's been placed in the film 21 and TV series including House and CSI. And get this: "Never Mess with Sunday," written for Ninja Tune's 20th-anniversary box set in 2010, was later sampled in Lil Peep's platinum-certified "Star Shopping." A quietly durable footprint for a largely instrumental artist.
